Compassionate, curious, and a little unconventional: I’m an elementary educator who builds classroom communities where kids feel safe taking risks, celebrating productive struggle, and becoming themselves. I bring a strong foundation in project-based and inquiry-driven learning, SEL, and Responsive Classroom practices, along with experience designing engaging lessons that spark curiosity and deepen understanding. I’m looking for a lead teaching role in a mission-aligned Bay Area independent school where equity, belonging, and joyful learning are at the heart of the work.

At MCDS, I’ve spent the past three years as a 2nd and 4th grade associate teacher in a deeply collaborative, student-centered environment. I’ve supported and co-led instruction across Bridges Math, literacy, grammar, and writing, with growing responsibility each year, including writing narrative report cards and participating in family conferences.

My teaching here is grounded in Responsive Classroom practices and shaped by inquiry-driven units I’ve helped design, from building a Coast Miwok tule reed boat to guiding students through graphic novel creation.

Every day in the classroom has reinforced what I believe about teaching: that agency, belonging, and joyful learning go hand in hand.

My time at Mark Day has been all about showing up where I was needed, and growing because of it. Since 2018, I’ve served as a support teacher, coach, substitute teacher, bus driver, and a summer Tinkering School collaborator. Across these roles, I built strong relationships with students, adapted quickly to new classroom environments, and supported both academic instruction and community culture.

As a 4th grade support teacher, I led small-group instruction in math and reading, supported students with differentiated strategies, and helped build classroom culture using Responsive Classroom practices.

As a Tinkering School collaborator, I’ve spent seven of the last eight summers helping students bring their ideas to life through large-scale builds like a 16-foot pirate ship and a rideable Mario Kart—projects that taught me how to guide with structure while letting creativity lead.

Watching kids light up as their ideas took shape showed me what hands-on learning could really do, and helped me realize I wanted to be a teacher. That experience sparked my path into education, and I’ve been building on it ever since.

AIM HIGH

Lead Humanities Teacher (Summer 2023)

At Aim High, I led humanities instruction for 6th and 9th grade students in a dynamic, multi-grade summer classroom. I designed and delivered a literacy-rich curriculum that focused on reading comprehension, writing structure, and community connection.

With my 6th graders, I facilitated a deep dive into A Long Walk to Water, integrating discussion protocols, vocabulary development, and research tied to local issues. With my 9th graders, I guided a multi-phase project on real-life heroes, supporting students as they crafted five-paragraph essays and multimedia presentations.

As an advisor, I supported a cohort of 20 students academically and emotionally, writing individualized narrative reports to reflect their growth. Working at Aim High affirmed my belief that learning is most powerful when it’s personal, purposeful, and rooted in relationships.
